About Lovelounge
History
Lovelounge was launched in March 2000 as a text only contacts site. It was driven by my “how it works” curiosity of the internet and interest in personals. It wasn’t the first site of its kind but it was better than most.
A few months later the site was totally rebuilt to include an exhibitionist area where people could send in photos of themselves. This proved very popular and the course was set.
The site did well and was popular with 2000 - 5000 unique visitors per day, it had lively forums and regular meet ups (socials).
But because there was no forward planning it became an administrative nightmare with lots of different systems tacked together. So I took a bit of time out to work on a new project called Niche Contacts, a suite of contact communities spearheaded by “Loungeparties”, originally part of Lovelounge which has been covered in Cosmopolitan, Glamour and Arena, to name a few.
Going forward
For some time I wrestled with the idea of re-launching Lovelounge, would it be relevant in 2006? Technology has changed, web surfing habits have definitely changed, at a glance there seems to be a saturation of anything adult orientated.
After a lot of market research I do still think there is a big gap in the market. With past experience and more structured planning along with a competent technical team I have absolute confidence that Lovelounge will be a great community and resource with a new fresh outlook that will set us apart from the many clone sites copying each other.
I look forward to seeing old friends and making lots of new ones with when the site returns.
